Ultraviolet complete electroweak model without a Higgs particle

چکیده

An electroweak model with running coupling constants described by an energy dependent entire function is utraviolet complete and avoids unitarity violations for energies above 1 TeV. The action contains no physical scalar fields and no Higgs particle and the physical electroweak model fields are local and satisfy microcausality. The W and Z masses are compatible with a symmetry breaking SU(2)L×U(1)Y → U(1)em, which retains a massless photon. The vertex couplings possess an energy scale ΛW > 1TeV predicting scattering amplitudes that can be tested at the LHC.

We consider the Lorentz violating extension of the standard model introduced by D. Colladay and V. A. Kostelecky. In this framework, we obtain all Feynman rules for the electroweak part of the standard model extension (SME), for the first time. Among the new obtained interactions one finds new vertices for the Higgs boson that is interesting in the phenomenology of the Higgs particle.

Natural electroweak breaking from a mirror symmetry.

We present "twin Higgs models," simple realizations of the Higgs boson as a pseudo Goldstone boson that protect the weak scale from radiative corrections up to scales of order 5-10 TeV. In the ultraviolet these theories have a discrete symmetry which interchanges each standard model particle with a corresponding particle which transforms under a twin or a mirror standard model gauge group. In a...

An electroweak model without Higgs particle

[Abstract] In this paper, applying general gauge field theory, we will construct an electroweak model. In this new electroweak model, Higgs mechanism is not used, so no Higgs particle exists in the model. In order to keep the masses of intermediate gauge bosons non-zero, we will introduce two sets of gauge fields. We need a vacuum potential to introduce symmetry breaking and to introduce the ma...

A New Electroweak Model Without Higgs Boson

[Abstract] In this paper, we try to construct an electroweak model which doesn’t use Higgs mechanism. In order to introduce symmetry breaking, we need a vacuum potential. We simultaneously introduce two sets of gauge bosons so as to keep the masses of gauge bosons W± and Z non-zero without violating gauge symmetry. In a proper limit, this model will return to the standard model, except that the...

MSSM Higgs searches with tau lepton final states in CMS

The Standard Model [1] of strong and electroweak interactions is in excellent agreement with the experimental measurements. However, the core of the theory, the electroweak symmetry breaking manifesting itself in the heavy vector bosonsW and Z and the massless photon, is the least known sector of the model. The Higgs mechanism [2] provides a mathematical explanation to this phenomenon, and one ...
